This course is for all abilities in art and colour understanding
Colour in Provence will take you on beautiful explorations in nature and immerse you in the special light and spectacular natural scenes of Provence. With practical art colour workshops and artist presentations at the residence.
Seran has over 20 years’ experience in tutoring art and is a colour expert. She is immersed in colour in her paintings, light installations and science work and is passionate about sharing this knowledge.
Colour understanding through this exploration can be applied in art, painting, crafts, design, interiors, science and wellbeing. This mini-colour art foundation will develop your colour mind through practical workshops and eye training techniques developed by Seran. Colour systems will be explored through different materials and fine art approaches. The visual connection through colour observation and application is how the colour mind develops. The colour eye can discern from 2.5 million hues, an opportunity to open them!
The week will be experimental, fun, relaxed with encouragement and determined concentration to explore colour through drawings, collage, and paint.
Included will be a colour feast visit to the famous impressionist artists paintings at the gallery l’Annociade of St Tropez with a trip to see contemporary art at St Paul de Vence village and Maeght art Foundation.
This course is for all abilities in art and colour understanding.
Seran works in the medium of paint, installation, light and more recently film. Known for her redefining art practise which led to winning the Arts Council England award for innovation.
She is an experienced University lecturer and art educator. The course is in English with some French spoken.
Itinerary
Each day there will be morning and afternoon sessions.
The aperitifs before our evening meal will be a chance to discuss the day.
Monday Evening guests and students settle in, relax and make themselves at home
Tuesday Introduction to colour and Seran Kubisa’s work practise.
Drawing, collage with first practical on colour memory and science physiology
Wednesday AM St Tropez art gallery l’Annociade.
PM Drawing, collage, paint and colour psychology
Thursday Local hill walks, picnic and nature drawings and paintings
Friday Trip to St Paul de Vence village and Maeght Art Foundation
Saturday Create colour compositions on wood and canvas
Sunday Create colour compositions on wood and canvas.

A discount can be offered for two participating guests sharing a double room and for block booking guests

Course group size is based on a minimum of four people attending and we reserve the right to cancel if it is under subscribed, at which point all deposits will be returned
